(12) Concentrated Load: A load that is concentrated over a Small area. Example, a pedestrian load, or light equipment load. Concentrated loads are shown in # per ft. of grating width measured perpendicular to span. (i.e., in SWD Direction.) Uniform Load: A load that is equally distributed over all of the clear span. Measured in # per sq. ft. (i.e., inventories stacked on shelving.) Deflection: The deviation in inches from the original plane when the grating is placed under a load. Clear Span: The distance between supporting members measured from the inside bearing point of one supporting member to the inside bearing point of the next supporting member.
(6) Welded stair treads are manufactured from standard 194 Grating with a patterned floor plate nosing and pre-punched end plates to facilitate installation. These weights are based on use of 194 Welded Grating and a base tread length of 18". For each additional inch add the appropriate weight from table for Bearing Bar Sizes. For 1/8" Bearing Bars deduct 10% from weights.
(12) Closed Meshed Grating is a pressure locked grating product, produced with close bar spacings to accommodate the requirements for pedestrian comfort and safety. Typical applications include: Building Entrances, Air Duct and sidewalk installations when ventilation and easy access are required. Closed Meshed Grating is available in carbon steel, stainless Steel and Aluminum. This product complies with standards as established by the American Disabilities Act (A.D.A.).
All close mesh types shown below are with 4 inch cross bar centers. Two inch cross bar centers are also offered and can be specified with the letter "F"- i.e. CMF-1 through CMF-5.
